Stéphanie's testimonial:
When I was 19, I started suffering from axillary hyperhidrosis and I had to stop wearing coloured clothing altogether. The rings under my arms were so conspicuous that I could only wear black clothes, and I had to look very carefully at the clothing materials so as to choose those on which the rings would be least visible.
I started my crusade against hyperhidrosis by way of a whole battery of tests with the Endocrinology services of the University Hospital in town. Everything was found to be normal. The word ‘hyperhidrosis’ had not even been mentioned, and I still did not know what I was suffering from.
It was while surfing the Internet in search of possible solutions and in an endeavour to identify the cause of such dysfunction that I found relevant information on hyperhidrosis and discovered that the number of people suffering from it was high.
I then started using countless antiperspirants, but without any marked improvement. The situation was making me desperate and I was becoming more and more uncomfortable day after day, when the most simple movements – like lifting my arm to pick a packet of biscuits off the shelf at the supermarket or hugging somebody – were pure hell. Such situation, together with constant moisture in the armpits – which ended up with eczema – was a permanent source of anguish for me.
I consulted a surgeon, who suggested thoracic sympathectomy, but I was scared by what such treatment implied, and I kept it as the worst choice to envisage. I went on with consultations, and saw an acupuncturist, a homeopath, a psychotherapist (after hearing time after time that my problems had to be of psychosomatic origin), and there was still no improvement.
In the summer of 2006, when I was 32, I started to work for Infodyn Laboratories. I then had the opportunity to talk about my problems with the Laboratory Manager, who offered to work out an antiperspirant formula in an endeavour to check my hyperhidrosis. I became very hopeful, but I must admit that I was also extremely skeptical. I had tried so many treatments, without any of them bringing improvements… So, I started applying the product.
Right from the first day, there was a marked improvement, and I was sweating much less. After the first week, my armpits were completely dry, throughout the whole day. I could not believe it. But I kept applying it every 2 or 3 days, and my sweating had now stopped entirely. I started wearing coloured clothes again and, at long last, I went shopping for items that appeal to me, and not anymore for those that would be most suitable to hide the rings… It has been a genuine liberation, and I can state that I know to what extent hyperhidrosis can deeply affect the life of those who suffer from it. I now apply Dry-Me every 10 days or so. I am happy to see that it has become available to all.
